When their elderly owner (a family member of our staff members') passed away in Minnesota, it was a challenge to get 2 large dogs to Phoenix before Minnesota was closed down (and under 3 feet of snow) for the winter.

Rose and her brother were dumped at the AZ Humane Society around Christmas, 2005. She was a tough nut to crack, but Jay at Smiling Dog Farms had no hesitation in offering her a forever home.

Diagnosed as dysplastic at under a year of age and left at a Las Vegas vet's office to be euthanized, Stryker's prospects for a future looked dim...that is until he got a little help from his friends.

On day of rescue

Lilly was horribly emaciated when she was rescued from the east side shelter in Mesa. After many tests, it was determined that Lilly had EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficienty).

Remington was purchased as "eye candy" by a man looking to attract women by using a cute puppy as bait. Luckily, his story has a happy ending because of the many wonderful people looking out for him.

Meet four "convicts" who have been unjustly incarcerated for months! These beautiful creatures were abandoned at a boarding kennel and good ole "mom" skipped out on the bail. That left them in a concrete cell with no human contact other than at cleanup and feeding time.
