| Vader's owner was referred to us by PACC (Pima Animal Care & Control) when she inquired about surrendering him to the shelter. Her son had brought Vader home recently (without asking), and their current lease does not allow for German shepherds to be on the premises. Unfortunately, Vader has to go!
According to the owner, Vader is a friendly boy who gets along with just about everyone and everything. She has a smaller dog that he plays well with, and even likes her cat. 
Vadar is currently in Tucson but will be brought to Phoenix by the end of the month in search of his forever home. Please check back for updated information.
UPDATE 9/16: Our Tucson volunteer, Sara, went to meet Vadar today and provided us with a few more photos. Sara reported that Vadar is "as advertised." According to Sara, "I met Vader in the park, and he came right up and sniffed me. He did not hesitate in letting me pet him, and was very friendly. He stayed right with Courtney (current owner) and me while she and I talked about him. He repeatedly came for loving, and willingly let me get his picture. He is a very sweet gentleman."
UPDATE 9/28: Vader was transported to Phoenix this afternoon thanks to volunteer Sara and one of our staff members. He is definitely bewildered at the turn his life has taken, but he's very sweet and willing to wait and see what happens next before making any "snap" judgments.
Since we were "told" that Vader was up-to-date on all shots, but no proof was provided, he will be seeing our vet first thing to have that taken care of. We will also check for a microchip. We were again "told," that he has one, but ... we'll see. UPDATE 9/30: Vader saw our vet today. He was nervous in the new environment and new people, but did not protest in the slightest with all the prodding and poking. Vet pronounced him a young 2 year old and in good health. Adoption fee $375.00.
