SIAH ("See-AH")

*SIAH* IN A NUTSHELL: Siah is the ultimate "farm dog." She gets along with cows, emus, chickens, and pretty much any other animal you would find on a farm. She does NOT get along with small dogs, which is the reason she is losing her current home. She is housetrained and typically sleeps in her mom's bedroom at night. She is also crate trained.
We were curious as to why a family was giving up a beautiful dog like Siah after having her for her entire life (5 years), so we scheduled an introduction to get some answers.

UPDATE 1/4: We met Siah at a small community park and were delightfully surprised. She greeted us without any reservations whatsoever. Her owner had said she had a preference for women, but we certainly didn't see it as she approached our male volunteer with a wagging tail and without hesitation. She was understandably nervous being in a new place with three strangers, but that didn't stop her from approaching with a friendly demeanor. We immediately switched out her buckle collar for one of our martingales and, once in the hands of our experienced volunteer, Siah's compliance with our requests was immediate. Whereas she had been initially pulling her owner's husband down the path when entering the park, our volunteer had no problem walking her or getting her to sit on command for photos.

We found out that Siah is living in a family compound with multiple residences -- several of those residences have small dogs (dachshunds and a bichon) that have made it their mission to annoy the larger dogs and, while the other larger family dogs don't seem to be having a problem, Siah does not appreciate their enthusiasm in jumping on her. So, to avoid conflict and, most importantly, anyone getting injured, the difficult decision was made to rehome Siah. Her owner did not want her to go to "just anyone," so she searched until she found us.

Siah is a lovely girl, a little nervous initially, but she did not display any behavior at all that concerned us. She needs to lose a few pounds, but that's simple food management.

We are looking for a foster or, ideally a foster-to-adopt or adoptive home. She is available for immediate introductions.

Adoption fee $375.00.
