| *PRADA* IN A NUTSHELL: Sweet young girl; initially shy with strangers, but warms up quickly. Great with kids and other dogs. | ||||||
| We received an email in mid-June from Fresno Humane, with the subject line of "Fantastic 4 Seeking Rescue." Our curiosity got the best of us and we had to look ... and we found Prada.
According to the shelter, "Prada (A0060796646) is a young Shepherd mix with a huge heart. While she can be shy when meeting new people, once she We were told that Prada "is a very sweet girl that came in as a mom with 6 of her puppies. When first separated from her babies, she was fearful and shy with new people and big groups but some of the dogs that she has made friends with have helped her gain more confidence and become more comfortable. She loves to play with the other dogs and we are currently working on her socialization with people she's not familiar with." When we asked if Prada had been spayed so that she could go into rescue, we found out that she is only 2 months postpartum and will require another month or two before being spayed. We didn't think we could help, but the shelter offered to try and find a foster for Prada until she could be spayed ... AND THEY DID!!! UPDATE 6/21: Our thanks go out to Sarah, who stepped up when Prada needed help. Sarah picked up Prada at Fresno Humane and, according to Sarah, Prada instantly took to her and was sitting in her lap!
FOSTER UPDATE: "She is very sweet! A little shy with most strangers and certainly not interested in being around my husband. She is going to make someone a very loyal, loving companion. She rides great in the car just tethered." FOSTER UPDATE 6/28: "You're going to love her. She is a doll. Wonderful recall, eager to please, sweet as pie. She is a great dog! I have a small livestock water trough (they hold up better than the plastic pools with my hooligans) and she likes to jump in after we are done playing fetch."
UPDATE 7/8: Good news! Prada is on the spay list for tomorrow. After spay, her wonderful foster mom, Sarah, has offered to keep her for a few days post surgery so that she doesn't have to take on the stress of moving right after major surgery. We anticipate she will be moving to Husky Camp around the 16th or 17th and then on to Phoenix at the first opportunity, where she will be available for immediate introductions and adoption. She'd love to meet you! UPDATE 7/16: Our thanks to volunteer Fresno transporter Emily, who drove Prada from Fresno to Lancaster this morning to meet our friends at Husky Camp. Prada will be on her way to Phoenix soon.
