| Pharaoh and Cairo were adopted as 6 week old youngsters by their current
owner. They have been well loved, trained and taken care of for the past year and a half, but now that owner faces a major lifestyle change -- forced to relocating to a small apartment where she CAN take the dogs; however, she feels that moving the boys from a home (with a yard and room to run) to a small, yardless apartment is not in their best interests ... and so she has made the difficult decision to search for a better home (or homes) for her boys. Foster mom, Ruth, has stepped up to give the boys a hand at finding their new homes.

EVALUATION: One of our staff members spent several hours with the boys this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find two excellently trained, well socialized loving youngsters. "When I entered the home, Pharaoh and Cairo sat on command and allowed me to enter the home without protest (after they had barked appropriately at my door knock). They 'escorted' me to a comfortable chair and then gave me a thorough examination.
| EVALUATION (continued): Cairo is definitely the more 'emotional' of the two and excitedly 'talked' and asked for my attention. Pharaoh was the first to leave us and settled himself apart from his foster mom and I, but still in the same room behind my chair. Cairo stayed with us, either right next to us or sleeping where he could see us (he actually fell asleep with his head on his foster mom's foot). He definitely wants to be where you are.
Pharaoh is an old dog in a young dog's body. He's calm and serene and quite independent. Cairo is the needier of the two, but the one who stole my heart. Both dogs are worthy representatives of their breed and would be an excellent addition to any family ."

Pharaoh and Cairo have been exposed to young children and small dogs (they currently live with a senior female chihuahua and love to hang out with their foster mom's grandson), but might be a little overwhelming to either simply because of their size and puppy curiosity. They are off-leash trained, housetrained, doggie-door trained, crate trained and ride well in a vehicle.

UPDATE 4/14: Pharaoh is adopted into his forever home!

Cairo is enjoying the "single life" after his brother, Pharaoh, gets adopted
Foster mom Ruth reports that Cairo has really taken to the change amazingly well and is blossoming now that his bossier brother isn't around.
Adoption fee: $395/Cairo ~ ADOPTED/Pharaoh.
