*MAGNOLIA* IN A NUTSHELL: Sweet and social youngster; can be selective with other dogs and is just learning the art of puppy play thanks to her current playmates, Zuko and Van. |
Magnolia first came to our attention in late November. She was a puppy in trouble in a California shelter. How a long coated, six month old puppy could find herself in trouble at a kill shelter is beyond our comprehension. Our facebook angel, Kathy J, inquired about her and was told, "This pet will be available to rescue on November 22, 2024 at 4:08pm. The pet appears friendly and seeks attention. She is a super nice girl. At this time, she is not in danger. However, every pet that has completed their stray hold is available for adoption, rescue or other disposition as allowed by law." Thatcertainly didn't sound good to us, so we signed up to be her "Plan B" if she did not get adopted immediately. We also gave Kathy the honor of naming our newest rescue furkid, and she suggested Magnolia.
When the shelter reopened on Tuesday morning, Maggie was still listed so we contacted our friends at Husky Camp to see if they could do a pickup ASAP ... and they could!
Once at Husky Camp, Jon did a video for us. UPDATE 12/14: Because we thought we had a home for Maggie here as a service dog, we brought her to Phoenix as soon as we could. Thank you, Betty, for doing a quick and last minute transport!
UPDATE 12/18: Maggie saw our groomer today and we were amazed at how white she really is ... and she smells so much better, too! She is ready for introductions in hopes of finding her forever home for Christmas. She'd love to meet you. It was obvious right away that Maggie was a puppy who simply did not know how to play with other dogs, but one afternoon with Van and Zuko, the other foster youngsters at her temporary foster home, and Maggie learned very quickly. Adoption fee $425.00.
