|*APOLLONIA* IN A NUTSHELL: Sweet & friendly with all. OK with cats.
|And the dogs in need just kept coming!! Apollonia was our SEVENTH cry for help in the last four days! After watching her video (click on the picture just below), we knew we had to respond.
We gave Apollonia her miracle and said we'd take her. Thanks to our dear friends Chuck and Jon, Apollonia will be joining the pack at Husky Camp until we have room for her here. We should have freedom pictures this afternoon.
UPDATE 11/19: Apollonia has arrived in Phoenix! Thanks to our friends at Husky Camp, who transported her from California to Quartzsite, AZ, and to volunteer Wendy, Apple has made her way to Phoenix in search of her forever home. As you can see from the photos, the first thing we're going to have to do is put some weight on this girl!
Upon arrival in Phoenix, Apple ran into one of the resident cats and she had no problem touching noses and making friends with her. We will test her again once she's settled in.
UPDATE 12/12: We thought it was time we did an update on Apple.
UPDATE 1/14: We brought Apple out for an informal meet & greet with two other females -- Pearl, who she had met the day before and played with successfully at her forster home, and Losie, a Belgian malinois being fostered by the Kubo family. She did well with Pearl, a very low ranking, non-reactive female. However, with Losie, she curled her lip a few times when Losie approached to make friends. The objection went no further than a curled lip and she immediately stopped when corrected and had no problem walking or interacting with Losie, but we're thinking a male companion would definitely be best for her as she does beautifully with Lobo (a WWE player) in her foster home.

Apple will see our groomer this coming week and then be moving in with foster mom, Wendy, to see how she does as an only child.
UPDATE 1/16: Apple saw the groomer today and then moved in with foster mom, Wendy.
FOSTER UPDATE 2/1: "Apple is a gentle little girl. She has been treat trained to shake a paw and return a ball when playing fetch. She's adjusting to praise and affection for learning something new. She likes to be inside as well as outside. Although she's never been on a leash, she's getting used to it and loves to go for walks. She no longer pulls and we're working on 'heel.' She will 'sit' and 'down' but 'stay' isn't in her vocabulary yet. We went to Home Depot where she was wary of people but smelled their hands and let them pet her. I took her to the office where she reacted the same way. She did lay down beside my desk and didn't move until I did. While I'm working from home she only comes for attention occasionally and briefly. However, when I'm finished and sitting on the sofa, she'd love to curl up beside me. She'll settling for petting and hugs. Apple loves to have her ears rubbed and will stand still until you quit."
Adoption fee $385.00.
